On February 7, 2025, a jury delivered a $49 million verdict against PacifiCorp, holding the utility accountable for its negligence in the 2020 Labor Day wildfires. The verdict includes over $32 million in non-economic damages, with additional compensation for economic damages and punitive damages.
Among those awarded damages were seven survivors represented by Wm. Keith Dozier, LLC and Paulson Coletti, PC, including:
- Michael Sims – $8 million
- Judith Coates – $6 million
- Lisa Dillingham – $6 million
This trial was about justice and accountability, ensuring that PacifiCorp is held responsible for the devastation caused by its reckless inaction. While no amount of money can undo the suffering these survivors endured, this verdict is a step toward recognition and recovery.
At Wm. Keith Dozier, LLC, we remain committed to fighting for those affected by negligence and ensuring that their voices are heard.
